This one-hour class instructs students on the basic foundations of fan work. Understand fan mechanics, learn how to hold, manipulate and tease with smooth ease, plus take home strengthening techniques to build muscle stamina for continued fan work. “Professional Purveyor of Good Times,” Deanna Danger is an international performance artist, events producer, culture-maker, and the Headmastress of Boom Boom Basics Burlesque & Performing Arts Studio. Ms. Danger is Richmond’s reigning, voted “Best Burlesque Performer,” Richmond’s 2016 “Entertainer of the Year,” and 2012 1st Place “Crystal Corset Award” winner of the Pennsylvania Burlesque Festival. She is the producer/director of Butchertown Burlesque, a vintage-classic, live jazz & blues + burlesque nightlife series appearing in venues across Virginia, as well as creatrix/femmecee of PurpleLife RVA, a queer/sex positive, nightlife danceparty experience, occurring monthly in Richmond. Ms. Danger is the lead choreographer for the Boomettes, studio dance troupe of Boom Boom Basics, and the founder/producer of the Miss Pinup RVA Competition.
